Frightened and sickened apply to all checks and DCs (including Attack Rolls, Maneuvers, AC and Spell DCs). But what does increasing mission difficulty do? As far as I've seen, the missions haven't been that bad, but I might be speaking out of turn as I'm only on the 2nd level :P.Sandal Fury wrote: On a related note, though, dumb question: When Frightened mentions a penalty to checks, that doesn't include attacks, right? My knowledge of 1e says no, but I've learned that 2e is very much not 1e, and similar terms don't carry over. Yeah as far as I've been playing, combat is not that hard, but cyberspace is a real mind♥♥♥♥ so I'll be sure to turn that down. Also, is it recommended to make notes on your map?Īh i see. Also putting Cyberspace to 0 is not a bad thing, since it's pretty much a little exploration game and not a combat simulator (at least in my opinion)Īfter you have finished the game, restart it and put everything to 3 except plot and cyberspace to 2 )Īh i see. Staying at difficulty 1 makes things a lot less confusing and frustrating for a first playthrough. System Shock 1 is a much harder game than 2 and later levels can get VERY frustrating especially since there is no objective logs, so sometimes you just have no idea of what to do just because you missed an audiolog or took a 2 week pause from the game. However for a first playthrough, I would highly recommend to play on difficulty 1 to all sliders (0 2 3 ) except maybe combat to 3 if you feel brave enough. Publicado originalmente por Deus:honestly, I can't speak for the game as I think you need to experience it for yourself.
